The Saceo Aroma SS highlights the company’s legacy of Swiss quality and Italian design. The Saeco SS 00354 has a pressurized portafilter reducing the amount of control the user needs to have over the grind setting and tamp pressure. The 5oz boiler has lasting steam power and combines well with Saeco’s Pannarello Steam Wand, which can also dispense hot water. These components highlight the approach to detail that is part of every Saeco coffee machine.
Saeco 00354 Features & Benefits
Control Panel Features:
Prominently presented are the three rocker switch buttons and steam knob that this Saeco Semi-Automatic espresso machine uses to make your coffee. The nice feature here is that you are walked through step by step as you use the buttons. First, you will turn on the machine. This begins heating the 950 Watt boiler so the water reaches the optimal brewing temperature. Next, the brewing button reminds you to fill the filter. Flip the switch so the full extraction can begin. The steam button and steam knob are located next to each other for an easy 1, 2. You’ll tap the steam button to tell this Saeco espresso maker you want to make a cappuccino and then use the knob to release the steam.
Espresso Brewing Features:
It can’t get much easier and direct than this. Saeco’s clear control panel means that you’ll work your way down to make your espresso. Turn the machine on and push to brew when the boiler has reached the optimal water temperature. Then push to steam. When the indicator light turns off telling you the Steam Wand is ready, turn the knob to release the steam. A simple and expresso path to your ideal espresso.
Steam Wand / Frother Features:
With the Saeco Pannarello Steam Wand steaming and frothing drinks is a lot simpler. The attachment is three inches in length and comes apart for thorough cleaning. The Panarello Wand has a limited number of holes on it to help form finer bubbles so you can craft a luxurious, thick and rich froth.
Boiler Features:
A 950 Watt boiler means that this compact home espresso machine quickly heats to the right level and is ready to get you your coffee. The boiler heats 5oz of water at a time so you may have to go through the process to make multiple cups for guests. Yet, with its powerful high wattage heating element the time between batches should be under two minutes. The 5oz boiler is made from durable stainless steel and like most machines should be decalcified every two to three months. This will add to the life of your machine.
Portafilter Features:
Able to accept ESE single shot pods with a special filter basket the Saeco Aroma SS offers a great filter system. Its 15 BAR pump pressure is what makes the pressurized portafilter so consistent in its extraction. A pressurized portafilter is often lightweight in comparison to commercial filters and is much easier to operate regardless of your skill. Just tamp down the coffee grounds, or insert the ESE pod, slide and twist the filter into place and you’re ready to hit the brew button to produce your coffee.
Water System / Reservoir Features:
85oz is more than enough water to produce multiple cups of coffee. With its powerful 5oz Boiler the Seaco Aroma 00354 quickly heats the water to make plenty of cups quickly for your guests. The removable tank glides in and out from the back side of the machine. A little hot water and soap is all you need to clean this element. Best of all, the Water Reservoir is transparent so you can always see the amount of water that is left for you to work with.
More Time Saving Features
Water Quantity Features:
A large size Water Reservoir that holds 2.5 liters (85oz) means you can make multiple cups without needing to refill at the faucet. The mighty 950 Watt boiler is a bit on the smaller size at 5oz, but this has a fast recycling time and assures you that you can’t dilute your coffee with extra water in a shot.
Programmable Timer Features:
No programmable timer is available on this model.
Active Cup Warmer Features:
Once you turn the machine on there is an Active Cup Warmer feature. However, the Active Cup Warmer relies on the machines residual heat from the boiler’s heating element and this may not be enough to instantly get your cups warm. When making more than 1 cup at a time this feature is able to work better.
Hot Water Dispenser Features:
Yes, the Saeco Pannarello Wand is able to dispense hot water.
E.S.E Pods or Ground Coffee:
Yes, the Saeco Aroma SS is able to effortlessly switch between coffee grounds and single shot pods. Just use the special filter basket included for use with the portafilter.
Removable Drip Tray Features:
